When I first started doing portrait sessions, I didn’t cull my images very well. If the picture was in focus and the photos subject’s eyes were open, it was a keeper. Which meant that in a 45-60 minute session, I would come away with 250+ clicks and end up giving the subject(s) several dozen images. […]
Here is the latest addition to my summer photo series Tragic Beauty, “Maleficent” with wardrobe and makeup by the model herself.
I have been photographing Lanika since she was a teenager, and as we’ve both grown up and gotten busy with kids and jobs we don’t get together as much anymore, so this session was a rare treat. Lanika is incredibly photogenic and has a real fashion editorial type look that I just love in a […]
Jack turned four last weekend, and we celebrated with pizza, cake, ice cream, balloons, presents, and MONSTER JAM! We had a total blast, and as of yesterday, we’re still recovering. My plan, (don’t laugh) now that Jack is four, is to start making him sit for practical homeschool lessons. We’ve been focusing on letters and […]
This session had me a little nervous. I was photographing a new family in a new location. But everything turned out great! I think I’ll use this location again in the future and I hope to get to work with this family again too. Such adorable little girls and such friendly people.
My winter break is nearly over, but I have some more pictures of Jack to share. He’ll be four this spring, and he wants to go to Monster Jam again, and he has asked me for a camera so that he can take pictures. I think he’ll get both.
Here are my favorite shots from my most recent photo session. Lisa is a friend, first time model, and a pleasure to photograph. It’s so rare that I get to exercise my girl brain and have fun with a session like this. Hopefully, it’s the first of many more sessions with Miss Lisa. Enjoy! Model | […]
When I set out as a photographer back in 2010 I hadn’t used a camera much before. I had been spending my time in front of the camera mostly, as a model. I took photography as an elective back in high-school (2005) and I would spend class time posing for other students. My own photos […]
As I push my front door open, after a long shift at work, I am greeted with an excited “HI!” from Jack as he charges into my arms, jabbering all the while, as he tells me about his day. Greetings such as this warm my chilly little heart after a long day of “customer service.” […]
Well, technically he said “N na noo mama” but I know what he meant and it definitely counts, but of course he hasn’t said it since. Anyway, here’s a whole bunch of pictures of Mr. Jack, because he is too cute for words. P.S. Jack is also 21 months old as of yesterday! Holy Hell he’s almost […]
Jack is closer to being a two-year-old, then he is to a one-year-old. A fact which continues to boggle my mind daily. Where did this big boy come from? He was 30 pounds at his last baby well checkup. It seems like another lifetime ago that I was counting his breaths as his tiny 3-pound […]
❤ Jack, one year, 8 months and 25 days old. Sitting in his favorite spot in the backyard, playing with a stick/wand, and enjoying a little sunshine. The purest and simplest form of discovery play for a toddler such as himself. There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors are brighter, […]
A little while back, I had the honor of photographing the daughter of our dear family friends, a young lady named Alana, whom I have known since she was just a toddler. These photo’s were taken by me, at my home, and in natural light. Alana’s mother and I did the styling for this session […]
